Forget Social Media and think Customer Service

I’d just like to start with saying the term ‘Social Media’ makes me cringe, last year it was called ‘Web 2.0’ and who knows what term we will adopt in 2010. It’s not new and it’s not something that’s just been discovered. It’s the product of people and societies waking up from years of losing our integrity with instilled greed, and short term satisfaction. The internet offers up a louder voice a chance to reclaim our true values in that make us all great human beings. Things that we do for our loved ones, our friends, people who buy off us. These values which are in our culture and we just forget them.

Companies got complacent because consumers where complacent…while the economy was on fire, people were spending money far too recklessly, these days I hope are over.

I recently read that perhaps it’s time to change that old verse, “Money is the root of all evil” — to; “money is the fruit of living a passionate and caring life”. Let’s hope this is what 2010 brings us.
